IRVINE, California (June 10, 2024) – Sundt Construction started work last month as the construction manager for Cypress College’s Fine Arts Building renovation project, designed by DLR Group.
Designed by DLR Group, the project scope includes a full seismic rehabilitation as well as accessibility and fire life safety upgrades on the three-story plus mezzanine building constructed in 1969. Mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire life safety and technology systems also will be replaced on the 66,765-square-foot facility. Designed by DLR Group, these crucial renovations will make space for the college’s art, photography, music, and media and communications programs.
Sundt completed two facilities for Cypress College in 2021, the Science, Engineering and Mathematics Building and the Veteran’s Resource Center.
“Our team is looking forward to returning to the Cypress College campus to lead the revitalization of its Fine Arts Building,” said Vice President and Irvine Regional Manager Jim Householder. “These renovations will help to create an updated and more flexible space that better meets the needs of students pursuing their fine arts degrees.”
