AUSTIN, Texas (August 4, 2022) – Sundt Construction’s Transportation Group recently hired Michael Casey, Waco Herrera, Luis Galvan, Anthony Humphries, Andrew Purcell, Hector Ipina, Taylor Orlando, Calvin Schmitz and Christian Neal in Austin.
Casey, Herrera, Galvan, Humphries and Purcell were all added to the 183 North Mobility project in Northwest Austin. Ipina, Orlando, Schmitz and Neal will be working on a water project in the area.
“Adding these talented individuals to our project teams is very exciting,” said Chad Yount, Central Texas area manager in Sundt’s Transportation Group. “We look forward to working with each of them and seeing what they will achieve.”
Casey joins the team as project manager. He has worked in the construction industry since 2009 and as a project manager for the last five years.
Herrera, Galvan, Humphries and Purcell join the company as superintendents. Herrera has worked on numerous transportation and aviation projects throughout Texas. With over 18 years of industry experience, Galvan has spent the last six years as a superintendent on transportation projects. Humphries has worked in the industry for eight years and has led several crews across multiple projects. Purcell brings a multitude of experiences to his new role with Sundt.
Ipina brings over 30 years of construction experience to his role as a project superintendent. With nine years of utility experience, Orlando will join the team as a senior project engineer. Schmitz will be a field engineer and is a recent graduate of the Illinois Institute of Technology. Neal, who has five years of experience working with an engineering consulting firm, will be a quality engineer on the project.
Sundt has 50 years and $3 billion of project experience in Texas. The company and its joint venture partner Archer Western, operating as Great Hills Constructors, recently broke ground on the $477 million 183 North Mobility project North of Austin. The project adds two express lanes in both directions along a stretch of US Highway 183 from MoPac Expressway to State Highway 45 North in Travis and Williamson counties.
