Sundt Promotes Charland to Lead Advanced Facilities Group

TEMPE, Ariz. (November 4, 2024) – Sundt Construction announced the promotion of Alex Charland to president of its new Advanced Facilities Group.

Sundt’s new advanced facilities group focuses on the company’s semiconductor manufacturing work, electric vehicle and battery, solar cells and other advanced manufacturing projects. Sundt is a leading contractor for semiconductor facilities, most recently ranked No. 7 by Engineering News-Record, the industry’s principal trade publication.

A 20-year veteran of the construction industry, Charland has been leading the firm’s advanced technology and semiconductor manufacturing projects in the western United States.

“Alex has led project teams to successfully complete some of Sundt’s most challenging and demanding projects. With his new role, Alex will help Sundt thrive as a contractor for the growing tech market,” said Sundt President & COO Cade Rowley.

Charland joined Sundt in 2007 as a field engineer, steadily advancing through various operations roles including project manager, project director and operations manager. He has over $3 billion dollars in direct project experience and was recognized as an ENR Southwest Top Young Professional in 2021. Charland earned his bachelor’s degree in construction management from the University of Wisconsin-Stout.
