Charlotte, NC (May 31, 2023) – Sundt Construction’s Industrial Group recently hired Duane Thaxton and Kristen Miller as Health, Safety & Environment (HS&E) managers to facilitate Sundt HS&E programs in the Southeast.
“We’re proud of our safety record and understand its importance to our employees-owners, clients, and the public,” said Steven Watters, Sundt HS&E Southeast area manager. “Duane and Kristen will bring their knowledge and experience to guide safety programs for our projects in the Southeast.”
Miller comes with more than 25 years of experience in safety, emergency medicine, health education, organizational development, workers’ compensation, and legal compliance. She has a bachelor’s degree in health education from St. Cloud State University, St. Cloud, Minnesota, and an Associate of Science in emergency medical care and rescue from Mankato State University, Mankato, Minnesota. Miller has accomplished numerous professional certifications in health, safety, and emergency medicine and holds an Advanced Safety Certificate from the National Safety Council.
Thaxton has over 16 years of experience working in a variety of power generation facilities, industrial plants, and mining operations. He is a certified instructor from the Health and Safety Institute and is an expert in safety, training, environmental awareness, and operational engagement. Thaxton is also an authorized OSHA trainer, a Mine Safety and Health Administration instructor, and has a bachelor in arts degree from Marshall University, Huntington, West Virginia.
Sundt’s history in the Southeast dates back more than 50 years.
