SACRAMENTO, Calif. (October 6, 2023) – Sundt recently distributed $13,500 in grants to charitable organizations in Sacramento, California.
“Sacramento’s grants are going to three amazing organizations that provide a wide range of services for a diverse population,” said Julie Deschenes, the Sundt Foundation Sacramento region board member. “What’s so special about the Sundt Foundation is that our employee-owners are able to choose a variety of causes to fund each quarter.”
Sundt awarded $8,000 to help Saint John’s Program for Real Change, which offers residential programs for women and their children in crisis. These comprehensive 12-month to 18-month programs help women develop skills and take advantage of tools and resources that help set them up for a future of success. Since 1985, Saint John’s has been able to help over 30,000 women and children better their lives.
RememberAVet.net’s mission is to ensure that every veteran is acknowledged and remembered for their service. Sundt gave $3,000 toward the purchase of wreaths to place on the grave sites of veterans at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery during the holiday season.
The Special Olympics of Northern California provides free, year-round programs for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Sundt granted this organization $2,500 to help fund the training, competitions, school programs, health and wellness activities and leadership training that the Special Olympics hosts.
The Sundt Foundation awards quarterly grants to community nonprofits. Organizations are selected through an application and review process led by a committee of local Sundt employee-owners.
