TUCSON, Ariz. (September 5, 2018) – The Sundt Foundation donated $36,000 in grant awards to 21 local charities during the last six months. The Foundation awarded $15,000 in grants to nine nonprofits and $21,000 in grants to 12 organizations during its second-quarter and third-quarter disbursements respectively. 
“The Sundt Foundation is the most important tool to fulfill our mission and the company’s purpose,” said Andrew Apostolik, the Sundt Foundation’s Board President. “At Sundt, our purpose is to build environments where our clients, employee-owners and communities prosper which is why it is important we invest in Southern Arizona.”
The Sundt Foundation awards grants each quarter to area charities that support disadvantaged children and adults. Nonprofits are selected through an application process and reviewed by a committee of Sundt employee-owners.
Second- and third-quarter grant recipients include:
$3,000 Award Recipient
Marana Unified School District Food and Clothing Bank provides solutions for the many challenges facing Marana students.
$2,500 Award Recipients
American Gold Star Mothers, Inc., Tucson Chapter is an organization for mothers who have lost a son or daughter in service to our country.
Hedrick House Inc. provides housing for recovering alcoholic men.
Southern Arizona Adaptive Sports aims to transform lives through adaptive sports. The organization has programs in wheelchair basketball, adaptive cycling and wheelchair tennis.
The Dream Factory, Inc., Arizona Chapter grants wishes of critically and chronically ill children from the ages of three through eighteen.
$2,000 Award Recipients
Angel Heart Pajama Project’s main program activity is to distribute new pajamas and books to enrich the lives of children in need. The children that will be served primarily come from foster care, shelters and homeless shelters.
Benson Area Food Bank’s mission is to provide low-income families in the Benson area with supplemental and nutritious food assistance.
Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation of Southern Arizona educates, supports, serves and advocates for families of children with cancer and other blood disorders, bereaved families, survivors of childhood cancer, and the professionals who care for them.
Exodus Community Services Inc. provides men and women in recovery with safe, drug- and alcohol-free 12-step-oriented environments.
Healing Arizona Veterans is a grassroots volunteer organization committed to helping Arizona veterans with traumatic brain injuries and/or post-traumatic stress disorder suffered during wartime.
Mobile Meals of Southern Arizona preserves the health, dignity and independence of homebound adults by providing home-delivered special-diet meals and daily contact with a caring volunteer.
More Than a Bed’s mission is to support foster families and the children in their homes by providing for practical needs.

Eagles Wings of Grace help women who have experienced devastation to transition from poverty to long-term economic independence.
Flowing Wells Extensions, Inc. enhances the educational process through a variety of extracurricular and supplementary activities for those in the Flowing Wells School District and surrounding area.
Girl Scouts of Southern Arizona serves more than 5,000 local Southern Arizona girls ages 5-17 to prepare them for a lifetime of leadership, success and adventure.
The Shyann Kindness Project provides fun and gifts while promoting and teaching kindness and acceptance to underprivileged, at-risk and medically fragile children.
YMCA of Southern Arizona is dedicated to improving quality of life and helping all people realize their fullest potential through the development of spirit, mind and body.

St. Luke’s Home is a holistic, assisted-living community for people aged 55 and older of limited financial means.

Felicia’s Farm provides eggs and fresh produce to give a much-needed nutritional boost to the homeless and hungry in Tucson.

American Heart Association | American Stroke Association is the nation’s oldest and largest voluntary organization dedicated to fighting heart disease and stroke.
Native Seed/SEARCH seeks to find, protect and preserve the seeds of the people of the Greater Southwest so that these arid adapted crops may benefit all people and nourish a changing world.
