Sundt Foundation Grants $12,000 to Southern California Non-Profits

 |  Press Release

SAN DIEGO (Sept. 28, 2017) – The Sundt Foundation recently awarded a $5,000 grant to Angels Foster Family Network in San Diego. The organization is dedicated to ensuring that babies and toddlers in foster care in San Diego County get the best start in life.

“We are grateful for the Sundt Foundation’s grant to Angels Foster Family Network,” said Executive Director Jeff Wiemann. “These funds will be used to recruit, train and approve additional families to foster young children ages newborn to 5.”

The grant was part of $12,000 in contributions made to four Southern California charities:

  • Bags4Kids received $3,000 to assist and support foster care agencies, children’s social services, schools, resource centers and police departments by supplying them with shoes, clothes, toys, bedding, hygiene kits, educational supplies and diapers for the children they serve during emergency situations.
  • Challenged Athletes Foundation collected $3,000 to provide opportunities and support to people with physical challenges so they can pursue active lifestyles through physical fitness and competitive athletics.
  • The San Diego Humane Society received $1,000 for its PAWS program, an in-home service that provides resources for homebound, low-income seniors who are struggling to care for their pets. PAWS delivers pet food, cat litter and supplies as well as financial assistance for veterinary care, as well as dog walking and transportation to vet appointments.

The Foundation awards grants quarterly to area charities that support disadvantaged children and adults. Nonprofits are selected through an application process and reviewed by a committee of Sundt Construction, Inc. (www.sundt.com) employees.
