Sundt Foundation Donates to Three Local Charities

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (August 12, 2019) – The Sundt Foundation awarded a total of $10,500 in grants to three Northern California-area nonprofits during its third-quarter disbursements. Sacramento Q3 Donation 2019

“All of our third-quarter grant recipients are well-deserving of a grant from the Sundt Foundation,” said Madison Jones, Sundt Foundation’s Northern California board member. “Each serves different demographics, but all have the same purpose: to support those in need within their communities. One organization we funded holds 5k runs in honor of their son Rhett who was diagnosed with cerebral palsy.”

Third-quarter grants include:

Project HIRED, which received $4,000, helps transform, through crucial skills training, homeless and low-income individuals with disabilities into thriving employees who can provide for themselves and their families.

Runnin’ for Rhett received $4,000 to teach children about nutrition and the importance of physical exercise. At the end of the program, participants run a 5k in memory of Rhett, who passed away from complications related to cerebral palsy at the age of seven.

The Lighthouse Counseling and Family Resource Center received $2,500 to provide services to disadvantaged children of all ages who are affected by trauma, anxiety, depression, family attachment issues, domestic violence, child abuse and neglect, poverty and other forms of familial distress.

The Sundt Foundation awards grants each quarter to area charities that support disadvantaged children and families. Nonprofits are selected through an application process and reviewed by a committee of Sundt employee-owners.
