SAN ANTONIO (November 9, 2020) – During its most recent quarterly grant cycle, the Sundt Foundation awarded $13,000 in grants to six Bexar County nonprofits.
“All of our fourth-quarter grant recipients are well-deserving of a grant from the Sundt Foundation,” said Terri Pasley, the Sundt Foundation’s San Antonio region board member. “Each serves different demographics, but all have the same purpose: to support those in need within their communities.”
Fourth-quarter grants include:
The Elf Louise Christmas Project received $2,800 to support their toy project, where volunteers distribute gifts to disadvantaged children and foster homes during the holidays. Additionally, Sundt’s project team on the Port San Antonio’s Innovation Center will volunteer for the organization to help them prepare for their gift distribution.
Roy Maas Youth Alternatives, which received $2,800, provides therapeutic counseling, psychiatric services, shelter, food, clothing, healthcare and recreational activities for disadvantaged children who have experienced past trauma.
Girls, Inc. of San Antonio, which received $2,800, provides essential programming opportunities, including out-of-school-time programs to increase critical thinking skills, enhance social and emotional skills and remote learning support.
Inspire Build Motivate, Inc. received $1,600 to support its programs for young, disadvantaged populations that help them prepare for the future with skills, financial management and family assistance.
Youth Code Jam received $1,500 to support their after-school programs, which provide hands-on computer science programs for K-12 students as well as teacher professional development for those in low-income communities. Sundt also donated 10 laptops to support their mission.
Soldiers’ Angels, which received $1,500, provides aid and comfort to the men and women of the United States Army, Marines, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard and their families.
The Sundt Foundation awards quarterly grants to local charities that support disadvantaged children and families. Nonprofits are selected through an application process and reviewed by the local committee of Sundt employee-owners.
