SALT LAKE CITY (May 28, 2019) – The Sundt Foundation awarded $3,000 to Mercy Housing Mountain Plains to support their operation of the Francis Peak View Apartments, which is home to 120 low-income families. 
The organization creates stable, vibrant and healthy communities by developing, financing and operating affordable program enriched housing for families, seniors and people with special needs who lack the economic resources to access quality, safe housing. Mercy Housing uses a two-generation approach to address poverty. While children participate in out of school time programs, adult family members can maintain a works schedule or educational pursuits.
“For our employee-owners to know they are supporting an organization like Mercy Housing Mountain Plains goes directly back to the purpose of the Foundation and our desire to contribute to the communities we live and work in,” said Dustin Murphy, Sundt Foundation board member.
The Sundt Foundation awards grants quarterly to area charities that support disadvantaged children and families. Nonprofits are selected through an application process and reviewed by a committee of Sundt employee-owners.
Salt Lake City nonprofits are urged to visit www.sundt.com/community-industry/sundt-foundation/ and apply by June 15 for a third-quarter grant. Grants range from $1,000 to $10,000.
