SAN ANTONIO (May 20, 2021) – During its current grant cycle, the Sundt Foundation awarded $12,000 in grants to four Bexar County nonprofits.
“There are many organizations within the San Antonio region that are working hard to support the local communities during these tough times,” said Chad Yount, the Sundt Foundation’s San Antonio region board member. “As employee-owners and contributors, we’re excited to support some great nonprofits for our second-quarter distributions.”
Each of the following organizations received $3,000:
San Antonio Public Library Foundation will use the funds for their LEARN program, which offers free learning opportunities to adults. It provides access to community resources and financial education to overcome barriers in achieving educational goals.
Restore Education has spent the past 13 years providing adult education, college preparation and workforce connection services to more than 4,500 residents from Bexar County and the surrounding area. It’s the only organization in the region to offer integrated general education development and college prep programs and supports graduates as they complete college.
Eagles Flight Advocacy and Outreach provides meal services to low-income families, assistance for victims of domestic violence and access to social services.
Alpha Home provides residential treatment programs for those seeking help from substance abuse. The organization works with local organizations, including food pantries, family services and healthcare foundations for its residents.
The Sundt Foundation awards quarterly grants to local charities that support disadvantaged children and families. Nonprofits are selected through an application process and reviewed by the local committee of Sundt employee-owners.
