Sundt Foundation Donates to Four El Paso Charities

 |  Press Release

EL PASO, Texas (December 14, 2018) – The Sundt Foundation awarded $2,500 to CASA of El Paso, Inc. The organization trains and supports volunteers from the community to advocate for abused and neglected children in the family court system. 4thQ2018ElPaso

CASA speaks up for those children by empowering community volunteers to serve as advocates. For these children, CASA means having a home instead of feeling lost, and being a priority instead of feeling invisible.

“The Sundt Foundation is made up of our employee owners’ contributions to their communities,” said Joe Riccillo, the Sundt Foundation’s El Paso region board member. “Giving back to our communities is part of our purpose and why we do what we do.”

The Foundation awarded a total of $5,900 in grants to three additional El Paso-area nonprofits during its fourth-quarter disbursements. Fourth-quarter grants also include:

Kelly Memorial Food Pantry, which received $1,000, helps children with its after-school snack bag. The pantry serves 1,700 children a month.

The Paso del Norte Foundation, which received $1,200, was established to improve education, health, economic development and quality of life. The program has been shaped by the needs of the low- to moderate-income student populations its serves.

The Braden Aboud Memorial Foundation received $1,200 to support the B STRONG Shoe Giveaway that provides shoes to students in an elementary school where the population is at least 95 percent economically disadvantaged. In the last decade the Foundation has donated over 7,500 pairs of shoes.

The Sundt Foundation awards grants quarterly to area charities that support disadvantaged children and families. Nonprofits are selected through an application process and reviewed by a committee of Sundt employee-owners.
