SAN ANTONIO (December 17, 2018) – The Sundt Foundation awarded a total of $10,110 in grants to three Bexar county-area nonprofits during its fourth-quarter disbursements.
“The San Antonio Sundt Foundation committee believes in giving back to the community in which we work,” said Terri Pasley, the Sundt Foundation’s San Antonio region board member. “It is deeply gratifying to be able to give to those in need in our community, and we were pleased to be able to lend support to these organizations and their missions.
Fourth-quarter grants were equally divided between the organizations:
The Autism Treatment Center received $3,370 to help purchase equipment and a year of supplies needed to teach food handling, money exchange, sorting, stocking and customer service skills. The school serves students ages three to 21 with autism who have not been able to meet their educational goals in their public school’s special education program.
Kinetic Kids, Inc., which received $3,370, provides life-changing experiences for children with special needs and their families. These children participate in various activities that would otherwise be impossible. In 2018, the organization served over 5,000 children and families.
Sistema Infantil Teleton USA received $3,370 to purchase new wheelchairs suited for water. The organization provides therapy pools for children with disabilities. Water has always been considered healing or therapeutic, and it provides a non-restrictive environment in which it is easier for kids to learn and move.
The Sundt Foundation awards grants quarterly to area charities that support disadvantaged children and families. Nonprofits are selected through an application process and reviewed by a committee of Sundt employee-owners.
