IRVINE, Calif. (December 19, 2019) – The Sundt Foundation awarded a total of $9,000 in grants to two greater Los Angeles nonprofits during its fourth-quarter disbursements.
“There is a lot of need in our community, and our employee-owners are proud to help meet that need,” said Robert Stokes, the Sundt Foundation’s Irvine region board member. “We want to build prosperity for the communities where we live and work and giving grants within the Greater Los Angeles area helps us work towards this goal.”
The Sundt Foundation awards grants each quarter to area charities that support disadvantaged children and families. Nonprofits are selected through an application process and reviewed by a committee of Sundt employee-owners.
Fourth-quarter grants include:
Making Hope Happen Foundation, which received $4,500, offers support and services to parents of children just entering school to better prepare their children for success.
OC Gateway Housing received $4,500 to support their housing program which serves homeless women surviving domestic violence, addiction, and other challenges.
In addition to awarding grants, our employee-owners also volunteer with multiple charities within their local communities. Sundt’s Senior Vice President and California District Manager Dan Dumke participates in an annual charity ride for the Challenged Athletes Foundation. The Sundt Foundation also awarded a grant to the Challenged Athletes Foundation, which assists, supports, and provides an opportunity to people with physical challenges so that they can lead active lifestyles and compete in athletic events.
