PORTLAND (May 26, 2022) – During its most recent giving round, the Sundt Foundation awarded $8,000 to two Portland-area nonprofits. The Returning Veterans Project and Project 48 each received $4,000 grants.
“Through the Foundation, Sundt can give back to our communities by helping great causes like these,” said Ken Kubacki, Portland’s Sundt Foundation board member. “These two organizations work to bring change to our communities for the better, and Sundt is glad to be part of it.”
Returning Veterans Project helps to bridge the gap in healthcare services for veterans. The free, confidential and timely services help veterans address both physical and mental health needs. Through the Sundt Foundation grant, the organization can grow its Volunteer Expansion Project to recruit and train an additional 25 licensed volunteers.
Project 48 works to help children entering the foster care system by providing backpacks and duffle bags filled with essential items such as brand-new clothing, shoes and toiletries to keep. The grant from the Foundation will help the nonprofit to provide these necessities to foster children.
The Sundt Foundation awards quarterly grants to local Portland-area charities that support disadvantaged children and veterans. Nonprofits are selected through an application process and reviewed by a committee of local Sundt employee-owners.
