CHARLOTTE, N.C. (February 18, 2022) – The Sundt Foundation awarded $7,000 to three nonprofits in the Charlotte area during its current giving round. “We are happy to be able to start donating to those in need in the Charlotte region,” said Andre Castaneda, Charlotte’s Sundt Foundation board member. “Each of these nonprofits is extremely deserving and we are looking forward to continuing to give back each quarter.”

Charlotte Angels supports youth and families in the foster community. The grant will help fund a full-time staff position to manage its two programs, the Love Box and Dare to Dream, ensuring the organization has enough capacity to match families on their waitlist. The Love Box program matches people with foster families to build relationships and provide comprehensive support. Dare to Dream provides foster youth with a mentor to provide emotional needs and guidance throughout important milestones in development.

Foster Village Charlotte’s flagship program provides new foster parents with welcome packs. These packs provide a weeks’ worth of supplies tailored to the new foster child. The Ronald McDonald House of Charlotte provides housing and food for families traveling for medical treatment. The grant will help the organization continue to operate and serve families.

The Sundt Foundation awards quarterly grants to local Charlotte-area charities that support disadvantaged children and families. Nonprofits are selected through an application process and reviewed by a committee of local Sundt employee-owners.
