SAN ANTONIO (Sept 27, 2017) – The Sundt Foundation recently awarded a $4,000 grant to San Antonio Lifetime Recovery to provide assistance for people with substance use disorders.
The grant will provide 26 days of treatment for someone medically and financially unable to provide those services for themselves. Most people in the programs are the underserved of Bexar County and South Texas.
“The Sundt Foundation’s commitment to the work of Lifetime Recovery helps restore families, enables men and women to be productive citizens of society, reduces recidivism and saves our local economy hundreds of thousands of dollars in social service,” said San Antonio Lifetime Recovery CEO David Phipps.
The Foundation awarded a total of $16,800 in grants to four San Antonio-area nonprofits during its third quarter disbursement.
- Operation Homefront received $6,000 to help fulfill its mission of providing financial, food and repair assistance for service members and their families. The organization has its headquarters in San Antonio and Arlington, Virginia.
- Support Lending for Emotional Well‐Being was awarded $3,400 to provide free emotional and physical support to low-income, uninsured and under-insured women recovering from cancer treatments.
- San Antonio Metropolitan Ministry received $3,400 to prevent homelessness in San Antonio through a compassionate, holistic approach that brings self-sufficiency, pride and dignity to struggling families.
The Foundation awards grants quarterly to area charities that support disadvantaged children and adults. Nonprofits are selected through an application process and requests are reviewed by a committee of Sundt Construction, Inc. employee-owners.
