IRVINE, Calif. (August 8, 2019) – The Sundt Foundation awarded a total of $16,000 in grants to three greater Los Angeles nonprofits during its third-quarter disbursements.
“A big part of who Sundt is, as a company, is about giving back to the communities where we live and work,” said Robert Stokes, the Sundt Foundation’s Irvine region board member. “As employee-owners and contributors, we’re excited to support some great nonprofits for our third-quarter distributions.”
The Sundt Foundation awards grants each quarter to area charities that support disadvantaged children and families. Nonprofits are selected through an application process and reviewed by a committee of Sundt employee-owners
Third-quarter grants include:
Better Angels, which received $6,000, encourages the college-attending culture by coaching educational professionals to strengthen their support of disadvantaged students.
Women Helping Women, which received $6,000, uses programs such as employment readiness workshops, computer classes, job-placement assistance, employment-related transportation and employment-retention support to give job seekers the tools they need to be successful.
The Cal Poly Pomona Foundation received $4,000 to teach technical engineering skills, engage in critical thinking and project-based learning in order to increase college enrollment among disadvantaged students.
