FORT WORTH (Sept. 27, 2017) – The Sundt Foundation recently awarded a $1,700 grant to DFW Birthday Brigade to help the non-profit provide birthday parties for homeless children.
Birthday Brigade’s goal is to give kids the opportunity to be recognized and celebrate their special day. The organization uses 100 percent of donations to purchase gifts, party favors, supplies, cupcakes, ice cream, juice packs, bottled water, and decorations. It serves an average of more than 100 family members per month and celebrates 10 birthdays.
“The Sundt Foundation grant provides us the opportunity to extend our reach and enables us to give each homeless child in Fort Worth a birthday party to enjoy,” said DFW Birthday Brigade Chair Suzy Gardner. “Each child is a gift worthy of this effort and should be celebrated.”
The Foundation awarded $12,100 in grants to six Fort Worth-area nonprofits during its second- and third-quarter disbursements.
