DALLAS (December 16, 2021) – The Sundt Foundation awarded four nonprofits across the Metroplex with grants during its current giving round. Nexus Recovery Center and Texas Scottish Rite Hospital in Dallas and Lena Pope Home and the Alliance for Children in Fort Worth received $2,300 grants each.

Nexus Recovery Center will use its grant to support various programs that support mothers to ensure healthy birth outcomes for infants and provide a safe, secure place for children to thrive. The grant awarded to the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital will support patient care, specifically its Hereditary Spastic Paraplegia, a neurological group of disorders that cause lower extremity muscle spasticity and weakness.
In Fort Worth, Lena Pope Home will use its grant to meet the needs of those who can’t afford the cost of private counseling sessions with mental health assessments and individual, family, and group counseling with a trauma-informed and trust-based interventional approach. The grant awarded to the Alliance for Children will support its emergency needs program that fulfills short-term emergency needs for Tarrant County victims of child abuse and their protective caregivers.
In addition to the grants in the Metroplex, the Sundt Foundation donated $16,000 to charities in San Antonio and $8,000 to nonprofits in El Paso. The Sundt Foundation awards quarterly grants to local charities that support disadvantaged children and families. Nonprofits are selected through an application process and reviewed by a committee of local Sundt employee-owners. North Texas nonprofits are encouraged to apply at www.sundtfoundation.org.
