Since 1997, the Shriners Hospital for Children in Northern California has become recognized as a leader. Located in downtown Sacramento, the hospital is a destination of choice for patients and families seeking comprehensive, compassionate care for complex medical needs.

“The Sundt Foundation is the most important tool to fulfill our mission and the company’s purpose,” said Andrew Apostolik, the Sundt Foundation’s Board President. “At Sundt, our purpose is to build environments where our clients, employee-owners and communities prosper which is why it is important we invest in the Sacramento community.”

The Foundation awarded $7,300 in grants to two additional Northern California nonprofits during its third-quarter disbursements:

Muscular Dystrophy Association, which received $2,500, began in 1950 with a caring and concerned group of families. They continue to relentlessly pursue their promise to free families from the life-threatening effects of muscular dystrophy and muscle-debilitating diseases.

Ruby’s Place, which received $4,800, is a nonprofit agency in Hayward, California, providing shelter and supportive services since 1972 for families and individuals who’ve experienced domestic violence and human trafficking.

The Sundt Foundation awards grants each quarter to area charities that support disadvantaged children and adults. Nonprofits are selected through an application process and reviewed by a committee of Sundt employee-owners.
