IRVINE, Calif. (June 26, 2024) – The Sundt Foundation awarded a total of $7,300 to two nonprofits in the Irvine area, Breast Cancer Angels and Action Alliance Foundation.
“Our Foundation members are pleased to support Breast Cancer Angels and Action Alliance Foundation in their missions,” said Rachel Perez, the Sundt Foundation’s Irvine region board member. “It’s always rewarding to come together and uplift organizations that are supporting individuals in need.”
Breast Cancer Angels received $3,650 to continue its mission of providing financial assistance to breast cancer patients facing economic hardships due to their diagnosis. Financial assistance is provided for rent and utility payments, grocery gift cards, co-pay subsidies and more.
Action Alliance Foundation was awarded $3,650 to support Project Hope, which aims to provide a path to sobriety for homeless individuals with alcohol use disorders, specifically those with dual diagnoses of mental health and addiction issues. The program offers recovery resident beds for those currently unemployable due to their conditions, addressing a critical gap in traditional recovery services. Action Alliance focuses on long-term sobriety and stability, teaching residents to maintain daily routines that support recovery.
The Sundt Foundation awards grants on a quarterly basis. Organizations are selected through an application and review process, overseen by a committee of local Sundt employee-owners.
