San Antonio, Texas (April 8, 2024) – The Sundt Foundation recently awarded $30,000 in grants to seven Central Texas charities.
“We continue to be inspired by the services these nonprofits provide,” said Chad Yount, the Sundt Foundation’s Central Texas board member. “Our employee-owners are happy to support the work of these nonprofits and know that we’re making a difference for individuals in our community.”
The following nonprofit organizations were awarded $3,750 to support their essential services: Care Warriors Inc., disABILITYsa, Habitat for Humanity of San Antonio, Inc., and Little Flower Catholic School.
Care Warriors Inc. serves individuals from ages 12 to 40 who are at risk or have disabilities. The nonprofit provides respite care, offers private tutoring and teaches independent living skills and vocational skills to individuals in Bexar County.
DisABILITYsa educates, advances and engages individuals with disabilities by building connections, exchanging information and creating opportunities. The organization connects families to information about local resources and programs that promote independence and inclusion.
Habitat for Humanity of San Antonio, Inc. will use its grant to provide a life-changing opportunity for a low-income family in Seguin, Texas to purchase a quality, affordable home.
The home will provide financial and emotional stability for a family who would not otherwise be able to purchase a home.
Little Flower Catholic School serves students from low-income families, providing tuition assistance funding to students, striving to ensure students graduate from high school, go to college and break the cycle of poverty.
Additionally, Motorcycle Missions, Williamson County Children’s Advocacy Center and Young Adults Making Strides received $5,000 each to support their missions.
Motorcycle Missions serves 150 veterans and first responders suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), offering motorcycle build mentorships, free welding/fabrication classes and motorcycle therapy.
Williamson County Children’s Advocacy Center’s mission is to provide hope, healing and justice for children and families impacted by abuse, violence and exploitation. This grant will support essential services, such as medical care, family advocacy and case coordination.
Young Adults Making Strides provides leadership development, career exploration and college preparation opportunities for young adults. The group creates a space for learning and growth and encourages students to share their work with the world.
The Sundt Foundation awards grants on a quarterly cycle. Organizations are selected through an application and review process, overseen by a committee of local Sundt employee-owners.
