DALLAS, Texas. (December 8, 2023) – The Sundt Foundation recently awarded a total of $16,000 to four North Texas area charitable organizations.

“These grants will serve a variety of groups in need within North Texas,” said Barbara Terry, the Sundt Foundation’s North Texas region board member. “Each and every one of these organizations is providing a critical service to individuals in need in our community.”

Serving our Seniors (SOS) received a $3,500 grant to support its mission. SOS provides services to senior citizens who need assistance with difficult and physically demanding tasks, but may not have the financial means to access those services. SOS tackles issues like lawn maintenance and minor home repairs at no cost. Over the past few years, the organization has seen a significant increase in client repair requests requiring professional services such as plumbing repairs, water heater replacements, tree trimming and pest control. The grant from the Sundt Foundation will go towards purchasing materials for minor home repairs, lawn equipment maintenance and replacement and professional services.

HopeKids North Texas organizes and hosts free, fun events for families with children dealing with life-threatening medical conditions, from live entertainment and private movie screenings to amusement parks and sporting events. The $3,500 grant will go towards funding these events, drawing families together and building lasting connections among attendees.

Lunch Box of Love received a grant of $4,500 to support its efforts in eradicating food insecurity. Over the last five years Lunch Box of Love has expanded from just feeding the homeless to adding an after-school program that feeds over 70 underserved children a day.

Living Hope Equine Therapy provides therapeutic experiences with horses, including riding lessons, horse care and horsemanship. The bonds that riders form with their equine partners can help increase their confidence, empathy, social and problem-solving skills, setting them up for success in the future. The $4,500 grant will enable the nonprofit to continue to offer the best horse care including boarding, farrier, and veterinary needs for their deserving equine partners.
