Sundt Employee-Owner Makes ENR California 2017 Top Young Professionals List

TEMPE, Ariz. (Feb. 9, 2017) – Tylor Middlestadt, Project Manager with Sundt Construction, was recently honored by Engineering News-Record California as one of the Top Young Professionals of 2017.

Middlestadt has helped lead eight ground-up and renovation projects totaling more than $630 million. He has been program manager for three large K-12 bond programs worth more than $1.5 billion in total value.

At Sundt, Middlestadt’s colleagues have recognized him for his leadership skills, his teamwork and his commitment to meeting shared goals. To solve a series of challenges on a major project, he focused on implementing effective project controls and more efficient document controls, helping to engage project team members and improve client relations. Middlestadt is passionate about operational efficiency at the project level and is working on creative strategies for scaling these best practices for company-wide impact.

Since 2012, Middlestadt has volunteered with the Foundation for Interdisciplinary Studies serving as Treasurer and Director. The foundation supports Cal Poly San Luis Obispo’s College of Architecture and Environmental Design students, faculty and programs by encouraging a “Learn by Doing” education through interdisciplinary approaches to industry-connected teaching and learning opportunities.

Middlestadt, originally from Albany, Oregon, graduated from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo with a degree in Architectural Engineering and Sustainable Environments minor in 2007.
