Funds will be used for education programs, veterans’ welfare, and families in medical crises.
San Diego, Calif. (April 6, 2023) – The Sundt Foundation recently awarded $21,068 in grants to four San Diego charities.
“The work these nonprofits are doing in San Diego towards education, veteran welfare, and families in crisis is commendable,” said Ryan Nessen, the Sundt Foundation’s San Diego region board member. “We are extremely fortunate to be able to give back to the community and look forward to helping more such organizations in the future.”
Warfighter Made is a nonprofit providing recreational therapy to ill, injured, and combat-wounded service members and veterans. It was awarded $7,068 to help veterans have access to recreational therapy, camaraderie therapy, and STEM education.
The San Marcos Promise Foundation provides resources and opportunities for all schools in the district, enriching the lives of over 19,000 students. The Sundt Foundation has donated $4,500 to aid programs that help local students explore various career opportunities and industries as well as support workforce-bound students in securing higher-paying jobs with benefits after graduation.
Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater San Diego has also been awarded $4,500 to support its suite of academic success programs, called PACE. This program will engage the members in a variety of academic pursuits year-round.
Jacob’s House, Inc. provides lodging and resources for families in medical crisis and was awarded $5,000 to support its purpose of providing free lodging, meals, ancillary resources, and emotional support while a loved one is receiving inpatient services at one of seven area hospitals due to a traumatic medical event.
The Sundt Foundation awards quarterly grants to local San Diego-area charities that support disadvantaged children and families. Nonprofits are selected through an application and review process led by a committee of local Sundt employee-owners.
