WICHITA FALLS, Texas– Wichita Falls Independent School District (WFISD), in partnership with Sundt Construction, Inc., will host a groundbreaking ceremony for the new Career and Technical Education Center (CTE) at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 10. The new building will be located at 500 E. Hatton Road.
The new CTE center was the centerpiece of a bond package voted on earlier this year. It will serve all of WFISD’s high school students, preparing them for post-high school careers or college.
Sundt Construction, which was selected through a competitive bid process, will play a key role in bringing the CTE center to Wichita Falls. Sundt has more than 45 years and nearly $2 billion of project work throughout the Lone Star State. Among the general contractor’s notable Texas projects are the award-winning West Seventh Street Bridge, Fort Worth; multiple schools for the San Antonio Independent School District; Warrior in Transition Barracks at Fort Bliss, Fort Sam Houston and Fort Hood; Reunion Tower, Dallas; Legacy Town Centers, Plano; work at Austin Bergstrom International Airport; the Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) 911 Dispatch Center, San Antonio; and the Wichita Falls Regional Airport terminal.
