STOCKTON, Calif. (August 10, 2018) – Sundt Construction, Inc. (www.sundt.com) recently completed University of the Pacific’s Calaveras Hall. The $26.5 million student housing complex includes two four-story buildings designed with 142 studio, two-bedroom and four-bedroom units that will provide a residential community for 377 students and 4 staff. PacificRibbonCutting1

“As student population rises on University of the Pacific’s Stockton Campus so does the need for student housing,” said Ed Segovia, Vice President and Sacramento Regional Director for Sundt’s Building Group. “Working closely with Capstone Development Partners, and using a design-build approach, gave us the ability to work with a company that has produced student housing for more than 25 years and help provide a place for students to call home as they pursue their academic goals.”

The 160,000-square-foot residence will provide contemporary apartment-style housing with gathering spaces and other indoor and outdoor student amenities, including a large communal kitchen, community spaces and study spaces to support the academic needs of students, and a fitness room, game room, and pool area to support student wellness and recreation.

The project is being developed by Capstone Development Partners, a private student housing developer known for partnering with colleges and universities to develop housing that supports the student experience.

The design-build team, Sundt and Mogavero Architects, began the project in August 2016 and completed it last month working closely with University of the Pacific staff to ensure the facility was ready for students to move in before the current academic year.
