Sundt Breaks Ground on Fourth Project With rPlus Energies

MOORE, Utah (December 13, 2024) – Sundt and rPlus Energies recently celebrated the groundbreaking of the Green River Energy Center— one of the largest solar-plus-storage facilities in the nation.

“We’re thrilled to be part of this monumental project” said Tom Dodson, President of Sundt’s Renewables Group. “The Green River Energy Center will be transformational for Utah and will fuel economic growth and opportunity for Emery County.”

Sundt is the engineer, procure, construct (EPC) contractor for the Green River Energy Center, a project. The facility will supply power to PacifiCorp under a power purchase agreement.

The project will offer long-term employment opportunities in the energy sector for Emery County. A significant percentage of the workforce will be hired locally, creating more than 400 construction jobs.

Construction has begun on the project. Sundt will install nearly 125,000 piles and almost 1,000,000 photovoltaic modules.

Ranked the 2024 No. 1 solar contractor in Utah by Solar Power Worlds, Sundt’s Renewables Group focuses on utility-scale solar and energy storage projects across the Mountain West, Southwest and Texas. As an industrial construction expert for over 100 years, Sundt has raised the bar on scheduling, safety, and efficiency as well as innovations to reduce natural resource consumption and minimize environmental impact.
