Dallas, Texas. (February 10, 2023) – Sundt Construction recently hired one and promoted two to support its Transportation group at its Irving, Texas office. Jackie Barnes was recently hired as a senior estimator, and Michaela Givan and Nick Shumate were promoted to lead estimator and preconstruction project manager, respectively.
Barnes previously worked as a lead estimator for heavy civil projects with construction values ranging from $20 million to $244 million. “Jackie has already proven to be a great addition to our preconstruction team. Her experience as a skilled builder and leader of complex estimates will be a vast asset to our team as we continue to grow in Texas,” said Jeff Grigsby, chief estimator of Sundt’s Transportation Group.
Givan, a Colorado School of Mines graduate, started as a Sundt intern in 2017 and has now been an estimator with Sundt full-time for over four years. She most recently worked on the $117 million interchange reconstruction project at IH 20 and US 84 in Roscoe, Texas.
Shumate has been with Sundt for a little over a year. Prior to joining Sundt, he assisted on numerous transportation projects both in operations and preconstruction. He is currently on the preconstruction team for the Neighborhoods 2 and 6 Street Reconstruction project for the City of Denton.
