Sustainability
At Sundt, we believe what’s good for business and what’s good for the environment are two sides of the same coin.
SUSTAINABLE BUSINESS PRACTICES
At every level of our company, we’re reducing our waste, water use, and overall carbon footprint.
Beyond implementing LED lighting, automated HVAC systems, and a company-wide master contract for recycling, Sundt has also adopted eco-friendly fuels in select vehicles and equipment, extensive video-conferencing, and employee rewards for alternative-mode commuting.
Our main offices in Tempe and Tucson, Arizona are both LEED Gold-certified, with our Tempe office also recognized by three Green Globes, certifying best practices in water and energy efficiency. Also, our internal two-volume LEED Greenprint manual ensures that we work consistently toward sustainable project goals.
GREEN BUILDING
From more efficient water and energy systems to recycled and locally sourced materials, we allow clients to lower operating costs and cut waste.
True sustainable building requires a holistic vision that sees every system as well as how those systems interact. It also takes a team-based approach. Our proven ability to partner with owners, architects and engineers has been key to Sundt’s success.
This is why Sundt is a pioneer in green building and sustainable infrastructure, with projects such as the first LEED Platinum building in the Southwest and the first Envision Gold public infrastructure project in the City and County of San Francisco.
CREATIVE SOLUTIONS
Our people thrive on solving uncommon challenges, for clients and for the communities they serve.
Sundt’s body of work includes everything from upgrading a power plant to reduce emissions by 80 percent to something as unconventional as using a herd of 60 goats to clear brush on a major civil infrastructure project.
Green innovations can define entire projects, like converting a half-mile-long drainage ditch into a world-class linear park, or hidden details, like a parking garage waterfall feature that doubles as an HVAC cooling tower for a city hall complex. No matter the nature of a client’s sustainability goals, our team is up for the task.
