Several Sundt employees from our Tempe headquarters donated their time to a worthy cause last week by sorting, boxing and cleaning a pallet of food at St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance in Phoenix. The organization – said to be the world’s very first food bank – will distribute the items to the hungry throughout Arizona.
St. Mary’s had this to say on its Facebook page following the visit from Sundt: “Thank you, friends at Sundt, for your generous donation AND for volunteering your time to help us sort food from food drives!”
The Sundt Foundation has been supporting St. Mary’s since 2006 with donations totaling approximately $65,000. Last week’s volunteer event included a tour of the facility to learn about how it has become one of the largest food banks in the world.
“Giving back to our communities is one of Sundt’s core values,” said Lisa White, a Sundt project administrator who helped organize the event. “Every hour of volunteer service at St. Mary’s helps provide more than 100 meals to those in need.”
