Andrew Apostolik, a group engineer in our Tempe office and former vice president of The Sundt Foundation, has been named board president for the coming year. He replaces outgoing president Jacque Hoppes, a project administrator in our San Diego office. The Sundt Foundation has also named Randy Rusing, a preconstruction project manager in Tempe, as vice president. In addition Jessica Beyer, an estimator in San Diego, and Alexis Marshall, a project engineer in San Antonio, were elected to the board.
The Sundt Foundation was established by Sundt in 1999 to give its employee-owners a means of giving back to their communities. It provides financial support to nonprofit organizations dedicated to improving the lives of disadvantaged children and adults through organizations located near a Sundt office.
The board convenes quarterly to approve grants based on recommendations made by employee committees in each Sundt office. The Sundt Foundation raises money primarily through contributions from Sundt employees, which are then matched dollar-for-dollar by the company. Since its inception in 1999 the Foundation has made grants totaling more than $6.5 million to hundreds of worthy organizations throughout Texas, Arizona, California and beyond.
