Tucson, ARIZ. (Dec. 5, 2023) – Sundt Construction recently hosted its 22nd annual Tucson Mike Gaines Charity Golf Tournament, drawing 144 participants and raising more than $44,000 for the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA).
“We host Mike Gaines Golf Tournaments in many of our regions, but the one in Tucson is always special because this was Mike’s home,” said Amy Bojorquez, Sundt business development representative and Sundt Foundation Tucson regional board member. “His legacy lives on through all the amazing hard work and dedication of the Sundt Foundation and our employee-owners who come together to give back to our communities.”
Founded in 1950, MDA’s mission is to empower people living with neuromuscular diseases to live longer, more independent lives. Since 2001, Sundt has hosted a suite of sporting competitions in Arizona, California and Texas to raise money for ALS research in honor of Mike Gaines. Mike was a Sundt employee for two decades before losing his life to ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. The events have raised over $2.3 million to date.
