It’s amazing what you can accomplish with a little hard work, determination … and fun. Since 2001, a group of dedicated Sundt employees and the Sundt Foundation together have raised more than $1 million to help find a cure for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), commonly known as Lou Gehrig’s disease.
ALS claimed the life of longtime Sundt employee Mike Gaines in 2002. Before he died, Mike and the Sundt Foundation worked together to establish the Mike Gaines Charitable Fundraising Events to raise money for ALS research. The annual events— golf tournaments in Tucson, Phoenix, San Diego, Sacramento, and San Antonio, and a trap shoot in Tucson—raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA).
So far this year the events have raised more than $121,000, putting the grand total given to MDA at $1,057,973. There’s still time to sign up for the golf tournament in San Antonio and the trap shoot in Tucson, which will take place on October 12 and October 26, respectively. Please join us – you’re guaranteed to have fun while helping find a cure for ALS.
