We’re pleased to announce that Shannon Lacerda has joined Sundt as business development coordinator. Shannon’s professional background spans more than 15 years, more than 10 of which were spent in construction law providing administrative support for a high-impact civil litigation team. Shannon also has experience as an office coordinator, marketing coordinator and project manager. We recently asked her a few questions to get to know her better.
What brought you to Sundt?
While I was at an industry event I learned that the company was hiring for a position I wanted to pursue. It sounded like a perfect fit, and it is.
What does your job involve?
I work in business development in California. I assist with preparing the materials needed for each potential project’s interview phase as well as with all of the administrative needs of the business development team.
How long have you been working in the construction industry?
For the past 15 years I have been in the legal field (criminal defense, family law, civil litigation), and for the last 12 years my primary focus was construction litigation.
What would you be doing if you weren’t working in construction?
I would probably be working in the legal field.
Where would you most like to travel?
Europe. I have traveled there several times, most recently on a family trip to the Azores (Portuguese islands).
What’s your favorite type of cuisine?
Portuguese.
What’s the most interesting book you have read lately?
“11/22/63” by Stephen King. I am not a big Stephen King fan, but this book is not like his usual thrillers.
Do you have a favorite inspirational saying, or a person who inspires you?
My kids inspire me to work hard and live true.
