Donating Dinners as an Expression of Gratitude

Camp Johnson Thanksgiving donations
The Thanksgiving meals were delivered in decorated laundry baskets for fun and convenience.

Employees of Sundt Construction and Andale Construction (working together as the Andale-Sundt joint venture) paused during their work last week on a federal construction project at Camp Lejeune, N.C. to deliver ingredients for Thanksgiving dinners to five marines and their families. The donation was a small token of our appreciation for their hard work and service to our country. We know that the holidays can be a challenging time for our service members, especially for those who struggle to afford a complete holiday meal.

“We bought them turkey, potatoes, sweet potatoes and many other ingredients for the meals, plus we gave each family a $50 gift card to use for the perishable items they might want to buy a little closer to Thanksgiving,” said Sundt Project Engineer Holly Horsak.

Andale-Sundt is building two bachelor enlisted quarters (BEQ) at Camp Lejeune – one at the Camp Johnson neighborhood and one at French Creek. The projects are valued at approximately $41 million and $38 million, respectively, and will be complete next summer.
