Today marks the kick-off for Women in Construction Week, a week dedicated to the women who helped pave the way for diversity in our industry.
During WIC Week, organizations and chapters across the country participate in jobsite tours, events, community building projects and more to further the National Association of Women in Construction’s (NAWIC) goal to support the success of women in the industry. In Phoenix, anyone interested can participate in a jobsite tour of the Ryan Companies Arizona Oncology Building project, which recently underwent a mid-schedule expansion.
There will be two panel group discussions with high school construction crews at Peoria High School and MetroTech, both technical programs aimed at providing skill-based education to local youth. If golf is your game, sign up to be a mentor or join a team at the wrap-up event on March 12, the 9 and Wine, an event that teaches women in our industry how to network and market themselves through the universal game of golf.
Check out Facebook and Twitter and search #wicweek for the exciting events in your area or visit www.nawic.org to reach out to your local chapter.
